Your support enables sustainable growth at Greenwood School!
Like other private schools, Jacksonville’s Greenwood School relies partially on the generous support of friends and donors to help educate students who have learning differences—and tremendous potential.
Greenwood School is unlike any other Jacksonville school—private or public. Our students benefit from a unique learning experience that results in success in the classroom, and beyond. Donate to the Greenwood Fund, and help students with learning differences flourish.
The annual fund is critical to Greenwood School because our Team has developed strategic, project-oriented goals to not only continue to enhance the amazing opportunities for our students, staff, and families to learn and grow, but also to establish and maintain Greenwood's status as leaders in educational innovation, environmental education and conservation, and campus safety, in particular.
Many benefactors have generously supported the institution during its growth and expansion throughout the years; we are pleased to share with you our currently funded projects in process:

Greenwood School Leading the Way in Northeast Florida
Greenwood School is excited to announce that they have been awarded a new grant, made by J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver through the Weaver Family Foundation Fund. The generous investment of $400,000 has been designated to complete two high-priority programs at Greenwood School. First, the gift will fund the acquisition and integration of interactive and assistive technology for all Greenwood classrooms that will not only enhance instruction and increase supports to the curriculum, but will also enable connections and collaborations between classrooms and with other schools in the U.S. and across the world while providing more robust support to students with specific learning differences. Secondly, Greenwood will be using this amazing gift to broaden the excellent Environmental and Conservation Education programs at the School. The Greenwood campus includes ten acres of protected wetlands, where students are able to spend time enjoying the rich experience of learning in and from nature. Students are engaged in formal research in partnership with organizations such as St Johns Riverkeepers, the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens, the University of Kansas, the University of Florida, and many other academic and professional institutions. With this new grant, the Greenwood Program for Environmental and Conservation Education will boast a beautiful, secure, vibrant ten-acre learning experience, complete with a professionally designed and responsibly built trail system--opening up the entire property to access and to create additional studies of an even deeper scope. In addition, outdoor laboratory stations, a greenhouse for botanical studies, outdoor classroom and wellness areas will be constructed behind the School. Completion of these projects will also significantly increase the positive impact that Greenwood School has upon the Jacksonville community by giving Greenwood the opportunity to provide Eco-Educational experiences to other schools and to community organizations.
The Weaver Family has long been a partner in the mission of Greenwood School. “We are proud to support Greenwood, which has always represented and demonstrated that learning differences are not a barrier to success,” said Delores Barr Weaver in describing her family’s support to Greenwood. “We applaud these efforts and the new opportunities they will provide Greenwood’s students.”
