ABOUT
GREENWOOD

Greenwood School is dedicated to serving middle and high school students with diagnosed learning differences and other challenges that profoundly impact their educational journey. The mission of Greenwood School is to provide a challenging and supportive education to middle and high school students with learning differences through adaptive, multi-sensory instruction in a positive, safe and secure environment. We are committed to continually enhancing our curriculum to optimally serve the unique needs of every student.

Many students arrive at Greenwood having experienced significant academic frustrations, often leading to a lack of self-confidence, motivation, and engagement. They may struggle with peer communication, forming and sustaining friendships, and constructive conflict resolution. The pervasive and complex landscape of electronic communication and social media networking further exacerbates these challenges for many, with recent studies linking these platforms to increased feelings of depression and isolation. At Greenwood, we address these critical issues through daily engagement, unwavering support, and expert guidance. We actively create abundant opportunities for outdoor learning and engagement, recognizing the profound benefits of diverse learning environments. Our commitment extends to providing a wide variety of indoor and outdoor learning spaces, ensuring that every student can thrive in a safe and supportive setting tailored to their individual needs.

Greenwood School recognizes the importance of guidance and mental health support. We are proud to offer the dedicated expertise of both a Guidance Counselor and a Mental Health Counselor to champion our students throughout their academic journey. Our Enrichment Department provides a rich array of guidance-based classes, including public speaking, adult transitions, essential life skills, and critical thinking, all meticulously designed to prepare students for success beyond the classroom. Furthermore, we have proudly launched the “Life After Greenwood” program, offering crucial support to graduates as they navigate career choices and college pathways aligned with their aspirations. Our unwavering commitment is to educate the whole student, empowering them to become happy, successful, and contributing members of the wider community.
