Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (required)

FLDOE certification in ESE or Specific Learning Disabilities (preferred)

Minimum of 3 years teaching experience (preferred)

Orton Gillingham training/experience (preferred)

Provide reading, writing and language support and instruction to students with learning differences.

JOB TITLE: Physical Education Teacher

DEPARTMENT: Faculty

REPORTING TO: Head of School

DEPT. OF LABOR STATUS: Full-Time, with Benefits; Non-Exempt    

Requirements: 

∙ Three (3) years (minimum preferred) years experience in a school environment, preferably a  school (public or private). ESE experience preferred. 

∙ Evidence of effective communication skills, leadership potential,  organizational skills, relationship building. 

Duties and Responsibilities (Direct and Supervisory):  

1. Instruction and supervision of physical education classes.
2. Perform Athletic Director related responsibilities  
   • Manage team schedules for School team sports 
     • Schedule 10 – 12 games per season for each team 
     • Have schedule approved by Athletic Director 
     • Obtain/confirm referees and officials for each game 
   • Inventory 
     • Maintain sports team uniforms 
     • Maintain sports team and physical education class equipment
3. Assist  Head of School with other duties when requested.
